Creepy Message.

THE CREEPS are a gas and they've been busy as hell writing and recording new songs. The newest of which they've just posted on their myspace page along with this message....

"So, friends, what's up?

Things have been pretty busy in Creeps-land lately and prove to be even more so in the next little while. We've got a bunch of shows coming up, a new split 7" coming out and are ironing out some brand new songs for a record that we hope to have out later this year.

First, we recently recorded two songs with Yogi at his Meatlocker studio for a split 7" with our friends Fear Of Lipstick from Moncton (check our "top friends"). Both bands recorded an original and a cover of one of the other's songs. It's coming out on Fucking Scam/Scared To Death and we're psyched about it!

To commemorate the occasion, we've planned a couple of extended weekends worth of shows together in early July and couldn't be happier to be hitting the road with those dudes again. Check the shows section for all of the details and come out and say 'hi' when we're in your city.

Also, for those in OUR city, start getting crazy excited for the second edition of the GAGA Weekend! The brainchild of resident super-hunk Ian Manhire, this weekend is a non-stop party with 30 bands playing 4 shows in 3 days. We're slated to play the big blowout Saturday night show at Babylon with an insane lineup of bands, including international superstars Statues and the mysterious and elusive Million Dollar Marxists!

Finally, to put the cart miles and miles ahead of the horse, we've been demo-ing some new songs with the intention of heading back to Yogi's studio this summer to record a new album. It won't be a full-length, but probably won't be a 7" either. Hmmm. I dunno, really. More details on this as we figure it out.

Alright, I think that's it.

Hope you're well,

skottie."

Check it out. The song rips really hard. I can't wait to hear what FEAR OF LIPSTICK does with the track they chose to cover.

SUPER IMPORTANT STUFF!

1- Thanks a lot to everyone who came out to the TYVEK show last night. FUCKED CORPSE were really great. I'm digging the new stuff and look forward to pulling their new cassingle out of it's denim sheath and rock out. THE BEACH BLANKETS were amazing and put on a really good show. It's always a good time when they play and judging by their set last night things are going to be getting insanely crazy come the GAGA WEEKEND. TYVEK were good too. I'm not super familiar with their stuff but they sounded very much like WIRE or one of those other bands that was playing "post-punk" while "punk" was just starting out without seeming like they're trying to have that kind of sound. They just seem to play what they play and that's what comes out.

2- ROCK N' ROLL PIZZA PARTY will again be at the ATOMIC ROOSTER tomorrow night and will continue to be there for a while hopefully. THE GAGA WEEKEND OPENING CEREMONIES will be taking place there!

3 - THE FAMINES from EDMONTON will be rocking FIRST BASE a.k.a. COZZIE'S a.k.a 854 BRONSON. They've just released an tape with some pretty INSANE PACKAGING that they'll have available at this show. Opening will be CRAZY OCEAN. Doors at 8pm. Suggested donation of 5 dollars.

TVK.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the last minute ROCK N' ROLL PIZZA PARTY at the ATOMIC ROOSTER. A HUGE thanks to MARK NOLAN for letting us come in and dj with him in his own turf. So many people came out and had a good time and the ROYAL OAK was stuck with some 8th rate dude dj'ing and eating pizza alone. Playing two NICKELBACK songs in ten minutes is two too much. We're still uncertain as to what will be happening with RRPP but we'll let you know as soon as we know.

TONIGHT - TYVEK, BEACH BLANKETS & FUCKED CORPSE at the BYTOWN TAVERN. 9 pm/19+/$6.

It's going to be a wild night for sure. Anyone who hasn't seen FUCKED CORPSE in a while will be surprised as the band has gone through some heavy line-up changes and have streamlined completely with fewer members and more direct sound.

BEACH BLANKETS know how to get a party started and will definitely do so tonight. Ripping 50's rock meets ANIMAL HOUSE.

TYVEK are from DETROIT and are going to melt your face off. They've released tons of records and have toured a lot and are ready to bring the party to OTTAWA. Wild lo-fi punk that will catch you off-guard.

SEE YOU THERE!!!

May Day

THE GOODNIGHT LOVING killed it last night at ROCK N' ROLL PIZZA PARTY. The night was started off by YEAR ZERO who include MIKE from MOTHER'S CHILDREN/BEACH BLANKETS on drums, BRAD of RRPP/NEIGHBORHOOD BRATS & TIM of MOTHER'S CHILDREN/URANIUM COMEBACK on bass and vocals. I thought they sounded like very early 90's LOOKOUT RECORDS bands while other thought they sounded completely different. Either way, they were good and it was only their second show.

Don't forget GARDENS are playing at the Rocker Room tonight! It'll cost a couple of bucks. Show up at 11. It'll be fun!
